Last Day in Florida

I’ve had the most amazing, relaxing time here. All of the worries I had pre-trip - about people and eating and activities … everything turned out FANTASTICALLY!

I’m currently sitting on our balcony, basking in the warm Florida breeze and I really wish we weren’t going back to cold, snowy Montreal.

Now - the trip in numbers:

  • 3 - the number of gym visits I made (although the last one was … lacking energy. I was thinking of lunch the entire time and made it 1.5 miles before I gave up and ellipticalled.)
  • 2 - gigantic bowls of salad I just had for dinner because well, it’s our last night, and you shouldn’t waste delicious tomatoes or a head of lettuce
  • 6 - the number of days I spent partially in a bathing suit (oooooh yeaaa!)
  • 12 - hours at Universal Studios (and about 7 hours too many … I guess I’m just not a theme park girl …)
  • 0 - cheats or slip ups. That’s right - NO EXCUSES just because it’s a vacation. Countless numbers of ‘no thank you’s and getting salads instead of pizza/breadsticks/roasted ‘feasts’/butterbeer/slurpees/ice cream/chips/crackers.

When you want something bad enough, you realize there’s no desire to ‘cheat’ - because you’re only cheating yourself.

Anyways, enough preaching - the takeaway is that I AM ALWAYS GOING SOMEWHERE WARM DURING WINTER BREAK!!!! Lesson learned. Best. Thing. Evah!
